e-MFP — Work and Reach
e-MFP combines networking with knowledge production, sector research, events and resources that can be used by different participants in the financial inclusion sector.
Action Groups
e-MFP Action Groups provide members with a cross-sector setting in which to collaborate on shared topics. The subjects and projects evolve over time and have contributed to research, tools, practical documentation and exchanges across the sector.
Financial Inclusion Compass
Launched in 2018, the Financial Inclusion Compass uses an industry-wide mixed-methodology survey. e-MFP gathers perspectives from practitioners, investors, donors, academics and support providers on trends, challenges, opportunities and future priorities.
MIMOSA
The Microfinance Index of Market Outreach and Saturation (MIMOSA) is intended as a standardised framework for analysing credit-market saturation. This is relevant to financial inclusion because growth without sufficient insight into market saturation can increase the risk of over-indebtedness.
Luxembourg Award for Inclusive Finance
The annual Luxembourg Award for Inclusive Finance carries a €100,000 prize and addresses a specific financial inclusion theme each year. In 2026, its theme is Unlocking Youth-Inclusive Finance. The Award is not only about recognition: practical learning is also documented and shared.
Research and conferences
e-MFP, together with CERMi and university partners, periodically organises the European Research Conference on Microfinance to bring academics and sector professionals closer together. The annual Inclusive Finance Conference is also a major international meeting point for the sector.
Public reach as a knowledge resource
Throughout the year, e-MFP publishes news, blogs, research, event materials and webinars. This makes part of the network's work useful to people and organisations that are not e-MFP members.
