e-MFP — About e-MFP
This page provides a concise, source-based introduction to the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP).
Mission and vision
e-MFP describes a vision in which stakeholders work towards universal and responsible financial inclusion. Its work concerns access to affordable, high-quality, sustainable and inclusive financial services for people who are unbanked or underbanked.
A multi-stakeholder network
According to the e-MFP website reviewed for this page, the network has more than 120 members from different parts of the financial inclusion sector, including financial service providers, investors, development organisations, NGOs, researchers, consultants and support providers.
Why the network model matters
Financial inclusion is not solely a technology or banking problem. The quality of solutions also depends on product design, regulation, consumer protection, funding, data, research, distribution, local circumstances and people's lived experiences. A network that brings together different types of organisations can therefore enable different forms of knowledge and practical experience to inform one another.
